He: 43, no record. For several weeks he chatted with "Emma, 14" — a police officer. Twice he arranged to meet and both times did not show up. There was no real child. Sentence: 18 months in jail. The court refused his request to serve the sentence at home because of his sick children.
She was a school teacher. She wrote to three of her former students — real boys: sexual messages, nude photos and videos of herself. She offered to pick them up by car for sex. Sentence: 2 years less a day — at home, the first 10 months under house arrest.
Two days after sentencing she applied for a paralegal licence. The Law Society of Ontario opposed it — its appeal was dismissed in 2023.
